Here are a few examples:
Lets say you are a manufacturer and want to build a “Just-in-Time” schedule. You can cause the scheduler to build a schedule from a target time backwards so that your job finishes at the target date. Or suppose you are building a sports schedule and want all the teams to play each other only once. You can specify an objective that picks different combinations of resources (teams) for each activity (game). Or perhaps you are a service provider and want to be sure that the same technician is chosen to perform all the activities at a particular site. You can specify an objective that tries to select the same resources (technicians) for all the activities (service calls) at the same location. AND you can blend any or all of these objectives by weighting each one as much as you wish. By doing that, you can tune the scheduler to perform just as you want to.
